Ayeesha Green is a financial wellness educator at Austin Community College. She has worked in higher education for over 25 years and considers herself favored to spend most of her days educating students on how to take control over their money. Ayeesha believes when you take time to educate yourself about money, it’s a form of self care. For the past five years, along with having a hand in building a nationally recognized Student Money Management Office, she has created a successful Peer Money Mentor Program where she takes a select group of students and trains them over a 10-week period on various financial wellness matters. Over the years, Ayeesha has worked with the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and imparted her expertise to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She’s spoken at the Higher Education Financial Wellness Alliance (HEFWA) and the Texas Association of Collegiate Financial Education Professionals (TACFEP) where she served on the Board of Directors for two years. With a flair for communication, Ayeesha loves taking tedious perplexing information and make it plain for students to understand. She affirms that financial education is one of the most fundamental life skills needed to successfully navigate our intricate financial systems. Currently, she is studying to become a Certified Financial Planner at the University of Texas at Austin.
